Brief Description of the project

Kenya Sanitation and Hygiene Improvement Programme (K-SHIP) aims to contribute towards the broader goals of poverty eradication, health and environmental improvement, gender equality and long-term social and economic development. The project started in 2016 and projected to end after 5 years of implementation.
The project aims to:
• Reach 30,000 people who will be sensitized on improved sanitation and hygiene practices.
• Move 80,000 people from open defecation to basic latrines
• Move an estimated 50,000 people with basic latrines onto improved sanitation
• Identify and provide sanitation access to 5000 vulnerable people
• Support 70 villages to become open defecation free
