Safer Motherhood, Child Healthcare, and Sanitation

To promote safer motherhood, child healthcare and sanitation in Osupuko Division.

Donor: We World Kenya Foundation

The General Objective of the Community Health Partners (CHP) health systems project is to contribute towards the realization of MDGs 4, 5 & 7 that focus on child, maternal health and environmental sustainability. Specifically, the project will promote access to better quality maternal-child healthcare and sanitation services in the Osupuko division. This project is designed to run for a period of 36 months with effect from 15th December 2014 to 14th December 2017. The project was activated by achievements realized in the previous Mother and Child Survival Program in Narok South District, which was implemented by CHP with support from We World in 2013, as well as a community needs assessment carried out by We World Kenya Foundation and CHP in July 2014. The assessment revealed that the health situation of the population living in Narok County is wanting with essential health indicators (such as hospital utilization, safe delivery, and latrine usage) still been reported below the national indicators.
