Community Health Partners (CHP), is a Faith Based Organization offering wholistic, affordable and accessible health care services to the general public in Narok and Kajiado Counties. CHP Health Program seeks to recruit the following High caliber Professional for its Rural Health Facilities in Narok County.

1. KENYA REGISTERED COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE (KRCHN)

Overall Function

The Nurse will work with other staff to maintain high standards and actively promote quality health care delivery and smooth running of the institution and to provide care to patients in the institution who require acute medical intervention that can be provided by a Nurse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in daily clinic organization to ensure smooth patients flow
  • To take relevant medical/social history of patients.
  • Manage patient according to the diagnosed illnesses.
  • Must ensure that the Health Facility is always in clean condition
  • Provide Health Education to patients on one to one basis on drug compliance, Nutrition and general Health.
  • Assist in referring patients who need further management in hospital setup.
  • Custodians of all the Health Facility medical equipments.
  • Accountable of all medical / drugs in Health Centre/Dispensary.
  • Ensure proper patient management is done in line with National HIV management guidelines
  • Ensure the minimum package of HIV/TB care is implemented in line with National guidelines
  • Ensures the maintenance of patient confidentiality.
  • Assist and work together in support of all the CCC activities with the clinical officer and other team members.
  • Ensure integration of HIV services in OPD and MCH.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) to discuss complicated cases.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to improve service delivery and patient level outcomes
  • Lead and support educational sessions at the Facility.
  • Support the formation and management patient support groups at the Facility.
  • Ensure complete documentation and timely reporting as required by CHP, Donors/Partner Organizations’ and GoK Ministry of Health regulations.
  • Adhere to the moral conduct of CHP

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Must be a holder of a Diploma in KRCHN from a recognized institution
  • Must have Registration Certificate from Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Must have a valid practicing license.
  • Should be self-motivated
  • Should have good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Minimum 2 years’ of experience.
  •  Be computer literate.

Required Competencies:

  • Willing and ready to work in remote / interior regions of Narok County
  • Fluency in Maasai language will be an added advantage

2. CLINICAL OFFICER- 1 Position
Position Summary
The Clinical Officer will work under the overall supervision of the Program Manager and the Project Clinical Lead. He/ She will provide comprehensive HIV and TB prevention and treatment services by ensuring program priority indicator targets are met on timely basis.
Major Responsibilities
a) Provide quality clinical services to HIV patients at the HIV clinic and any other department (TB,MCH, and inpatient) including Patient counselling, ART treatment preparation, initiation and follow up
b) Undertake comprehensive clinical evaluation of PLHIV for ART eligibility and ongoing care as per national guidelines including requisition for baseline and follow up laboratory tests
c) Support clinical management of opportunistic infections
d) Offer integrated prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) – screening for HIV exposure in children, ART initiation and follow up during ANC and PNC and appropriate
follow up of HIV infected children as per national guidelines
e) Support integrated TB/HIV services including a) TB active case finding and ICF, TB preventive treatment for PLHIV b) Appropriate and timely initiation of TB and ART treatment and TB patient follow up and accurately documentation of treatment outcomes
f) Support integration of the following services in routine HIV care – family planning, cervical cancer screening, GBV screening and referral, PEP and PrEP services
g) Monitor facility ART cohort growth by ensuring program retention strategies are implemented with fidelity
h) Support facility rational use of ART and TB commodities through good dispensing practices, stock monitoring, reporting, placing orders and pharmacovigilance
i) As a technical member of facility service delivery team, participate in implementation of QI projects, preparation, review and submission of reports, multi-disciplinary team meetings, ECHO/Zoom meetings and trainings
j) Actively participate in other service delivery areas and joint facility activities

Required Qualification
i. Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized medical training institution.
ii. Registered with the Clinical Officer’s Council and possess a valid practicing license.
iii. Over 2 years’ relevant experience in implementing ART and TB programs.
iv. Competencies in PMTCT, Adult and Pediatric ART, Counselling and Testing programs and integrated TB and HIV services are essential.
v. Computer literate; experience with a HMIS
vi. A team player, motivator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Required Competencies:
• Willing and ready to work in remote / interior regions of Narok County.
• Fluency in Maasai language will be an added advantage
• Born again Christian will also be an added advantage
